June 17, 2010 – Business and communications experts, Verdant Consulting Ltd won the prestigious award for “Outstanding Small Consultancy” at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Excellence Awards, on Wednesday evening, 16 June 2010. Verdant battled it out with three other finalists to win the coveted award, and demonstrated to a panel of judges how they had successfully maintained their competitive edge in both client satisfaction and exceptional performance over the last three years.
The winners of the 2010 CIPR Excellence Awards were announced at the Excellence Awards Dinner at The Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London on Wednesday 16 June. The host for the evening was CIPR President-Elect Paul Mylrea, and the compère for the event was BBC London Reporter and Presenter Louisa Preston.
This year the CIPR Excellence Awards received over 750+ entries for the 27 award categories. For a complete list of categories visit the CIPR website.
The judging procedures are rigorous and involve two stages. Each entry was shortlisted on the basis of a written submission to go through to the second round of judging. This involved being interviewed by a panel of judges, comprising senior PR practitioners and experts from the business, media, marketing and advertising communities.
The Chairmen of the Judges were Colin Douglas FCIPR, Director of NHS Communications, Department of Health and Michael Murphy FCIPR, Chief Executive at Grayling.
CIPR Interim Chief Executive Officer Ann Mealor said:
“Competition for our Excellence Awards has always been strong and I'm delighted to say that this year has been no different. Despite the economic challenges of the past year, our profession continues to produce high calibre work that demonstrates just what PR can achieve. Our Awards are judged to the highest standards through a tough and rigorous process. To have come out on top, the best of the best, is a real achievement. My congratulations go to each category winner, in this, our Excellence Awards' 25th Anniversary year.”
