Work Stream Management for the Home Office’s Violent Crime Unit
Background and objectives
The Violent Crime Unit of the Home Office (VCU) asked Verdant to work with them on writing a policy document for the government’s cross-departmental strategy on combating violence against women and girls.
Working alongside Home Office staff, Verdant’s consultants helped draft the core narrative and structure for the document and developed an audience-focused model for talking about the actions which government intended to take as well as supplying a qualified programme and project manager for the VCU to work with them to develop a detailed project plan that helped them deliver a complex range of policy objectives including the commitments outlined in the strategy.
Results and evaluation
- Verdant helped draft and deliver to the Home Secretary a strategy document for the VCU within seven weeks
- The strategy was published on schedule in time for media coverage on International End Violence Against Women day in November
- Verdant successfully coordinated the necessary workstreams and prioritised the team's objectives
"We couldn't have completed this major task without Verdant's tremendous hard work and help over the very few weeks we had available to us. It was a real pleasure working with them."
